“Pachamama” is an allegory to Mother Earth through the female figure. The series is composed of four paintings, and each one represents a season of the year.
This work came from a desire to work on something conceptually bigger and more complex; something that would take longer to complete and would make me feel even closer to my work. This is why I needed to work with more than one canvas, so I could give different values and perspectives on the representation of one concept.
Working on the pattern has been a true obsession. I love the juxtaposition between the easiness of the shapes, when viewed individually, against the fullness, when seen as a whole.
The white background with wavy varnish represents the energy that radiates from our bodies and its vibrational quality. It represents the light within all of us, radiating balance, harmony and magic: the Aura.
