“Pachamama” is an allegory to Mother Earth through female figures. The series is composed of four paintings, and each one represents a season of the year.
This work came from a need of working in something bigger and more complex conceptually speaking, on something that would take longer to complete and would make me feel being part of it. This is why I needed to work with more than one canvas, so I could give different values and perspectives on the representation of one concept.
I have always been fascinated by how diverse the human being is, on how by changing slightly the face and body lines we get so many different faces and bodies. I tried to capture the essence of each woman, embracing and empowering their differences and ethnicities.
The white background represents the energy that radiates from our bodies, its vibrational quality. It represents the light within all of us, radiating balance, harmony and magic: the Aura. Besides, it gives mental space to the observer in this world of excess; “Simplicity” against a society increasingly “Complex”.
